Banners
Design Renaissance is equipped to supply all of your banner requirements.
We can use combinations of conventional painting techniques, computer cut vinyl techniques and the latest outdoor quality digital printing to produce the type of graphics you require on your banner.
We can produce banners of any size and proportion.
We would generally only use conventional painting techniques on very large banners (e.g. over 5m X 5m) which results in less cost. It is usually appropriate to use paint to block in main colour areas with such banners and then apply details with computer cut vinyl lettering.
For smaller banners (e.g. 1m X 4m) where the message is simple lettered graphics we can get the banner made up in a particular colour and the lettering is most economically applied with computer cut vinyl.
For banners which require very complex layout, colour blends or photographic images we would use our digital printing technology which allows us to print any computer generated combination of colours, lettering and images directly onto banner vinyl prior to it being sewn into its banner form. This process produces exceptionally high quality results and any combination of graphics is possible.
Banners can be installed in a number of ways. The most common is to have eyelets or ropes sewn into the edges of the banner so that it can be hung in an appropriate position. This is a low cost and relatively simple installation method in most instances (except high rise which can be expensive).
A second method is to have ropes sewn into the edge of the banner all around. This allows us to slide the edge of the banner into an aluminium track which we can preinstall in the face of the building. This method involves more expense with the installation but it holds the banner in a stretched position and prevents movement. This is excellent for banners which are going to remain in position for a long time and for very large banners.
A third method is to use a product called 'Clipsin'. This is a flexible sign face framing system which is perfectly suited to the installation of digitally printed banner vinyl sheeting. It can be used to install any size banner. It holds the banner in position on the wall and at the same time applies tension to it so that it remains wrinkle free. It is a light weight aluminium product available in a variety of finshes which also frames the banner. Although the initial cost of the product is high, the completed installation is very clean and stable. The process also means that banner vinyl does not have to be sewn prior to installation. The two piece interlocking framing material enables very simple and fast change over of the graphics face. This makes this method ideal for sitations where a very polished look is required and also for sitiuations where the graphics face needs to be constantly changed. An example of an 18.6m X 1.4m sign digitally printed on banner vinyl and held in place by Clipsin is shown below.
A fourth method for the internal display of smaller banners (e.g. 1300mm wide by 4 or 5 metres high) is to use a simple curtain rail hanging method. This is very inexpensive, and requires no sewing. This is ideal for internal retail displays and also expos and trade shows where there are limitations to how signage can be fixed. Combined with our digitally printed graphics this technique provides a very high impact solution to many display or promotional requirements. It is also a method that can be applied to larger banners if the banner is sewn and the correct railings are used.
Of course there are also other methods for installing banner graphics which may also be applied to a range of situations.
